    After playing this a bit in G, I tinkered with a few phrases. I hope Tom doesn’t mind. Nice tune no matter how you play it.

    I wonder why the transcription here is in “Edor.” Sounds straight D maj to my ear.

    This version is an almost exact transcription of what NM is actually playing. I have studied and analyzed the tune intensely - slowed the music down, listened, played along, written down - and this is the result. I have left out various ornaments, though.…

    Neat little tune. Uilleann piper Michael Cooney performed it on the low whistle at his concert at Glucksman Ireland House in NYC in 2005, the only time I heard anyone play it. I think it works quite well in the key of G.
